[----------]
Welcome to the first changelog for Mekra Descent! In here will document the changes of the current iteration of the system, which currently is 0.0.2 until stated otherwise.
[What's Changed?]
Species
- Asria now reduces MS reductions by 1. This is overall a buff.
- Chrysal wording altered - now adds 1 DP to all attacks made against you on the first round of combat. This is overall a buff.
- Dror adds 2 AP instead of 1. This is overall a buff.
- Elvika now adds its attack bonus to any weapon with the precision keyword, not just ranged. This is overall a buff.
- Nandria can now occupy the same space as allies and grant them obscurement. This is overall a buff.
- Plesra lose their bonus to EV. However, they now automatically succeed on checks made to wallrun or climb, and can move through the spaces of allies and enemies alike, though cannot end their turn in occupied space still. This is overall a buff.
Tacticals
- Attacking with the Kinesis tactical now requires you to spend a minor action. Normal object movement is still only a free action (1/turn). This is overall a nerf.
- The Freerun tactical now also increases technician MS by 1. This is overall a buff.
Equipment
- Technician discount has been reduced from 25% to 15% (multiply by 0.85 now instead of 0.75). This is overall a nerf.
- The proper page for breaking up attacks between movement for the Gunrun techmod has been added.
[Reasoning]
Asria Buff
Asria were rather underwhelming, due to providing very niche benefits that oftentimes wouldn't even be encountered cause you could just use your Mekra instead. As such, their MS reduction has been made global, now allowing them to reduce slows from more than just being underwater or in zero G.
Chrysal Buff
1 DP against all attacks on the first round was always the intent. However, the wording implied it only worked against one attack in the first round, making the race weaker than intended.
Elvika Buff
I know people love melee elves as much as ranged ones, so it's better to remove this restriction instead to promote player agency.
Nandria Buff
The Nandria needed more ways to stand out, and what better way than borrowing from the Nanostorm enemy and give the Nandria the ability to obscure allies?
Plesra Buff
Plesra needed to be more distinct and not another stat buff, so it has lost the stat buff and instead received a slew of new abilities that make it impactful with just being boring.
Freerun Buff
While more or less minor, Freerun just needed a little something to equalize the playing field with some of the other tacticals.
Kinesis Nerf
Being a free action to do damage meant that this was quite a good pick since it was, quite literally, free damage for absolutely no cost to the player. Now that it needs a minor action to perform the damage, there is more cost to its actions.
Discount Nerf
The discount is here to stay, since it's for helping to incentive continuing to purchase lower-grade equipment if needed. However, 25% was a bit of a drastic reduction, so it has been reduced to 15% - still noticeable, but not as large.
[Closing]
Overall, a pretty notable amount of buffs to some species, helping to even the playing field a little more.
